We agree – Barcelona has an incredible amount to offer!

Granada is a city and the capital of the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalucia, Spain. Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of three rivers, the Beiro, the Darro and the Genil.

It’s a beautiful place to travel to.

This picture is a view from the Alhambra Palace, the complete form of which was Calat Alhambra, a palace and fortress complex located in Granada.

We’ve featured Granada recently in a number of posts. Care to learn more? Check them out here.

Interested in visiting the Alhambra Palace?

Here’s some info on Alhambra tickets:

  • Advanced booking is recommended due to high Alhambra ticket demand and to the restriction on the number of visitors per day.
  • Entry to the Nasrid Palaces is limited to the time slot of half an hour indicated on each ticket, so pay attention to your time. There is no special restriction to entry to the Generalife and to the Alcazaba.
  • Arriving earlier to the Alhambra Palace is recommended – the site gets a lot of visitors. Seriously – get there early.
  • Alhambra tickets are valid for an entire day – but only one day.
  • You can find more detailed information here.

Street Art Bristol England Travel Photography

Bristol is the largest centre of culture, employment and education in Southwest England. One interesting thing is that there are 34 other places named Bristol mostly found in the United States. There are also Bristols in Peru, Jamaica, Canada and Barbados, all of which are presumably commemorating the original place in England.

Today’s inspiring travel photography was contributed by Kriti Bajaj at the Queen’s Jubilee in Bristol, England. She notes that certain areas of this city, especially Stokes Croft where this photo was taken, are literally a canvas that are painted and re-painted.

Kriti is from New Delhi and currently en route to finishing a Master’s degree in anthropology at the University of London. When she isn’t planning her next adventure, she also enjoys photography, writing and chocolate. Kriti devoutly documents her experiences in pictures on her blog, Framed and Focused.

Kriti Bajaj took this great shot of the Queens Diamond Jubilee in London, England. The Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is a multinational celebration throughout 2012 marking the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II to the thrones of seven countries upon the death of her father, King George VI, on 6 February 1952. She is today queen regnant of 16 sovereign states, 12 of which were British colonies or Dominions at the start of her reign.

Gmunden, home to 12,000 residents, is a little less than three hours by train from Vienna so it makes a great day trip idea if you’re in the area. There are a number of sights found in Gmunden which include the Traun Fall, Schloss Ort and Gmunden Keramik.

Sonja’s photos showcase Lake Traunsee and the beautiful mountain landscape. One of the images also shows Seechloss (Castle on the lake) which was founded in 1080 and is now used for wedding receptions. Sonja is originally from Great Britain but took a working holiday in Austria to teach English. She liked it so much that she moved there! Be sure to also visit S0nja’s website.
